What areas do you serve?
We work across the greater Puget Sound region, including Seattle, Tacoma, Renton, Bellevue, Redmond, Shoreline, Sammamish, and our home base in Tukwila, roughly 40 miles in every direction. Not sure if you’re in range? Just give us a call.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
Kitchen and bathroom remodels, room additions, ADUs, decking, fencing, and new construction, plus repairs and smaller jobs. If you don’t see your project listed, reach out anyway; there’s a good chance we can help.
Do you offer free estimates?
We offer a free initial project walkthrough, where we’ll look at your space and talk through scope, budget, and timeline. Design work, drawings, engineering, and permitting are handled separately once we move forward.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes. DH1 Construction is a Washington state licensed and bonded general contractor, and we carry insurance as required to operate. Happy to share our registration details if you’d like to verify us directly with the state.
Will I get something in writing before work starts?
Yes. Your written proposal and agreement spell out the work included, material selections or allowances, price, and payment terms, so you can review everything before anything begins.
Do you require a deposit?
Deposits and payment schedules are project-specific and are laid out in your contract. There’s no one-size-fits-all number we quote upfront, since it depends on the scope and timeline of the work.
Who handles the permits for my project?
Permit responsibility and cost are defined in your project agreement and vary by job. We’ll walk you through what your specific project requires before you sign anything.
How long will my project take?
It depends entirely on scope; a bathroom refresh and a full home renovation are very different timelines. We’ll give you a realistic schedule once we’ve walked the site and nailed down the plan.

Can I supply my own materials?
Yes, we offer labor-only terms if you’d like to provide your own materials. We’re also happy to source everything ourselves, whichever works better for your project and budget.
Do you only do big remodels, or also smaller repairs?
Both. When something goes wrong, a leak, a rotted board, a skylight that needs replacing, we fix it fast. We also take on full renovations from the ground up.
Do you work on commercial properties?
We primarily serve homeowners, but we also take on light commercial projects across our service area. Get in touch and we’ll let you know if it’s a fit.
Do you build ADUs (accessory dwelling units)?
Yes, detached backyard cottages or conversions of existing space, for rental income, aging parents, or a separate home office. We can also walk you through your city’s ADU permitting rules before you commit to a design.
What happens if you find something unexpected once work starts?
It happens: hidden rot, old damage, code issues that only show up once a wall’s open. If that comes up, we’ll stop, explain what we found, and get your approval before doing any additional work, billed separately as a change order.
